I use various USB thumb drives between Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X computers. When I insert the USB drives into a Microsoft computer, a bunch of 'noise' files appear in Windows Explorer, with names like.Spotlight,.Trashes and._.Trashes. I think they are system files that the Mac uses and are normally hidden on a Mac (they do not appear Finder, the Windows Explorer equivalent on a Mac).
